"Yard work can lead to stormwater pollution if it is not done right. Bag or compost your clippings because yard waste in the storm drains or washes adds excess nutrients to surface waters and is illegal.

Cut back on your yard waste by choosing native plants that require less water and maintenance. Spot treat your weeds to avoid putting toxic chemicals in rivers and streams.

Consider being "green" by using ladybugs, or physically pulling weeds in place of chemical treatment, or composting your yard waste.
